Hi my name is Ken, I am married for 20 Years, and I thought it was normal to have a diminished desire to have sex. When someone asks you “are you well?” what are they asking is: “Are you not sick?”. It has taken me 52 years to understand what it means to have a feeling of “well-being”. Spend a minute and come with me on my journey…..

As long as I can remember I have never felt right……Low energy, low libido, low motivation, anxiety, depression, mood swings and a sleeping disorder. I have spent countless years complaining to my wife and my general practitioner (“GP”) that I could never understand why my wife, who has chronic rheumatoid arthritis, could have more energy for life than me. To get out of bed was just too hard some mornings.

Finally, my GP gave me a small book called “Taming the Black Dog” and recommended that I read it. It was about Winston Churchill and the severe depression that he suffered from. It outlined the symptoms and affects depression has a person. It was me and I thought that I had finally found the problem and therefore it could be resolved. We discussed the problem and I agreed to start taking anti-depressants. During the next couple of months and after a couple of different types of drugs later (which totally switched off my sex drive), I decided to read about the effects of psychotic drugs. Horrified, I realized that this was not the way to go so after discussion with my GP it was decided to send me to a Psychiatrist. I spent six months under treatment with him. While it helped there was still this underlying anxiety that I always had.

My brother happened to send me a book on metabolic anti-aging which really caught my interest and after searching the internet I ended up making an appointment to see Dr. Dzung Price at the Renew You Centre for Well-Being.

Have you ever been to see a doctor and left with the feeling that someone was actually interested? I now have. After an intense examination of not only myself but my family history, some comprehensive blood tests, allergy testing and cellular analysis it was discovered that my hormones were out of balance, I had hidden allergies to many substances, my pH levels were low and I needed to make changes to my body mass composition.

I was surprised at the approach taken by the team at Renew You. It was not a case of giving me drugs to alleviate the symptoms. It is in some ways an alternative approach to the medical norm of waiting until a problem occurs and then treating it. The Renew You approach is best described as cutting edge preventative medicine. The techniques used are different and one would need to have an open mind when embarking on the same journey. They gave me a blueprint plan to improve both my hormonal and cellular health. I was amazed to find that I was hypersensitive to my own testosterone.

The end result is after about six months everything started to click in. I cannot put the finger on anything in particular and feel it was a combination of everything implemented. I have never had energy levels like I have today. I have lost a total of eighteen kilos in weight in 6 months. I sleep better at night. I now have the willingness to get up and get out there. I no longer have depression or anxiety! Libido is through the roof! I am able to do strenuous exercise on a regular basis. I am also able to take on the stresses of life with relative comfort. I am going to walk the Kokoda Track.

I am “Well”! It all sounds so magical; doesn’t it? Be warned though, it is not. It takes some determination to change your life. What the programs at Renew You does is give you, the energy and therefore, the willingness to make these things happen. When I first came to Bojan Schianetz in March 2004, I was suffering from long standing depression and was on antidepressants for over 7 years and had gradually increased the required dosage to the maximum level. I was like a zombie. My energy was very low, and I virtually had no libido, potency or enthusiasm for life. After starting on a V-Activ health plan and a natural hormone replacement programme which addressed my low testosterone, high estrogen and low growth hormone levels, I quickly started to see results.

The most tangible evidence of my increased energy levels was in relation to a power walking fitness exercise programme I used to attend most weekday mornings. This program had circles with flags at intervals, the idea being you had to complete the circle by keeping up with the timed beeps at each flag. As you got fitter you could gradually move out to a wider circle. For years I had been trying to get beyond the 39 metre circle without any success in fact mostly having to drop back to the 38 metre circle. I was absolutely amazed when one morning after I had been on Dr Price’s program for a couple of months I was suddenly able to walk at the 40 Metre Circle with only the same effort that I had previously expended to walk at the 38 Metres Circle. What is more after a month or so I was even able to move to the 41 Metres Circle. I couldn’t believe it! It was a real defining moment. I was so excited! I felt better in so many other ways, but this could all be put down to psychological imagination, here I had concrete evidence of a change in my physiology.

I felt so much better that I was soon able to gradually reduce and finally, to stop my antidepressants, and become assertive enough to deal with my unhappy home situation that I had procrastinated about for over 10 years. I commenced some emotional work with Dr Price to clear out limiting beliefs and past stuck emotional issues with my wife that have held me back for years. I feel so much freer now. We worked on improving my health.

Now, I feel so different, a dramatic change to the man I was just a few short months ago. I feel alive, energized and invigorated. I feel contented and happy. I feel an enthusiasm for my job whereas previously I had had to push myself to get started each morning. And although I have reached retirement age I am quite happy to keep working for some time to come yet. I feel so much more confident in my social life and found it so much easier to attract a new partner. Previously I had absolutely dreaded getting back on the social scene but suddenly it was fun. My libido has never been better. My love life has never been better. I am planning a honeymoon vacation in Europe soon. It is very hard for me to reconcile my chronological years with the age that I feel. Life is wonderful. Life is exciting!

My name is Bruce, I am an engineer.
